An antique East Turkestan Khotan carpet. The long, double square format is common in Chinese Central Asian carpets. This Khotan displays an offwhite central square between two disc medallions and double leafy stems. The sandy field is complemented by the brown and taupe tones of the fret and Yun-Tsao Tou borders. Fret field corners and swastika fret minor add to the Chinseness.
