A wool pile of symmetric knots on a cotton and wool foundation. The greyish slate field shows offset rows of large oval, “mirror” cartouches uniformly enclosing abstract floral bouquets. Inner ecru main border of cornucopias, and outer strip style main with reversing turtles in the Bidjar manner. A good example of the transition from wool to cotton warps among Bidjar weavers. Robust and compact weave.
