An antique Persian Kurd Bidjar rug. The trade calls any Bidjar village rug a “Kurd Bidjar”, but all Bidjars are woven by Kurds, regardless of size, style or tonality. This rural scatter displays five octagonal medallions in light blue and rust-brown on a light brown ground. The mostly brown border displays repeating full flower modules in a unidirectional array. This antique Bidjar, like others from villages surrounding Bidjar town, has a semi-geometric, almost Caucasian drawing.
