Antique Persian Mahal Room Size Carpet

A wool pile of symmetric knots on a cotton foundation. The slate field, corners, and border all exhibit a corduroy-like surface texture. Centered in the field is a tangerine-rust octogram rosette, around which ecru leaves undulate, forming pairs of thick ecru blossoms that frame the center. The corners are rendered in a lighter blue. The leaves are animated with small eye-like spots. A bone strip-style border features cogwheels and petal palmettes. The palette is slightly reduced.
