An antique Persian Malayer carpet. The gently abrashed blue-grey ground is moderately closely covered by a regular, uniform allover Herati pattern, but the real design action in this western Persian village carpet is in the buff border with its sprays with fat leaflets and two types of in-and-out palmettes.
