An antique Persian Malayer runner. Halfway up the red-brown field the lozenge chain with its complex central rosettes becomes a broad incomplete lozenge lattice, the outlines remaining in a light straw. The abrashed to charcoal main border displays flowers with square volute basal leaves. This is definitely an unusual west Persian village weaving.
