A wool pile of symmetric knots on a cotton foundation. The salmon-buff field shows a Herati design in the corners and along the sides of the stepped, ecru open sub-field. The stepped lozenge medallion repeats this play, and further features extraordinary aroid pendants with flowing ribbons. Strip style rust red main border with reversing turtles. Looks like a Tabriz, but it is actually a high quality village carpet.
