The precise, minute allover Herati pattern on a tan ground contrasts with the bold turtle palmette sienna brown main border in this well woven NW Persian urban carpet. The Herati pattern, especially on a perfectly executed, small scale is a Tabriz standby, and here is a particularly fine example.
