A vintage Indian Mazalpatan carpet. Thin lines devolve from a central openwork medallion with a dark brown jagged palmette focus. These straight lines encompass rosettes and tall flowers on the middle brown ground, with a row of further flowers at each field end and a dark blue border with bent stems and Turkish-looking finial blossoms. As with many Indian room size carpets, the look is strikingly unique and not really in the Persian carpet tradition.
