A wool pile of symmetric knots on a cotton foundation. Dated 1319= 1941. In a simple metalworkers’ shop a master hammers a piece of hot metal on a small anvil while his assistant works a bellows to keep the small hearth hot. Brick wall, stone floor. Tools are scattered about. Dark red border of double barbed leaves and reversing fan palmettes.
