A vintage Persian Mashad Sampler rug. This Persian pattern sampler has a crisp red field supporting a swirling palmette, leaf and rinceau design detailed in teal, dark blue, buff and beige. From this sampler, an accomplished weaver could construct an entire rug or even carpet.
