Vintage Turkish Flatweave Kilim Room Size Carpet

Woven in two pieces with visible seams up the middle, this tapestry-woven, pileless carpet features wide striped bands alternating with narrower ecru stripes. Extra-weft small ornaments appear mostly in the cream areas. The pattern shifts slightly, causing some opposing sections to be out of sync. The same weavers worked on both halves, but they did not maintain consistent measurements. Extra-weft patterns form delicate narrow side borders, but there are no patterns at the ends. One panel is very slightly wider than the other. The pieces were woven sequentially and then fitted together, with any visible faults added later. The result is utterly charming. In good condition.
