An antique Persian Badjar carpet. The field is multiply abrashed with a few light blue passages and is decorated by a close, small scale allover Herati pattern framed by ivory minor borders with double vines and palmettes, and a brick major stripe with the characteristic Bidjar rendering of turtle palmettes. This western Persian Kurdish extra-large carpet is very heavily and solidly made, with incredible wearing potential.
