A wool pile of symmetric knots on a cotton foundation. With a characteristic single-weft Senneh structure, this enormous carpet presents a bone field bearing an uncommon yet definitive Kurdish interpretation of the allover Herati design, emphasizing pairs of large, partially serrated leaves while downplaying open diamonds. An attractive sky blue strip-style border displays doubly bent leaves, rosettes, and smaller rosettes. The minor borders mirror the main stripe in simplified, reduced form. Clearly a bespoke creation rather than a standard, off-the-peg production.
