A silk pile of symmetric knots on a cotton foundation. The layered, scalloped ogival medallion, with a spiky cream edge, is set against a red field adorned with yellow, fantastical floating corners and numerous small vases with flowering shrubs. The flora and foliage surge dynamically around the medallion. The main border features half cartouches in pale blue, with precisely repeated sections in navy, all decorated with floral designs. The rug is very finely knotted, showcasing characteristic Tabriz Mid-century craftsmanship of high quality and imagination.
